We were thrilled to have been able to work with the community of Penrhiwceiber on this outside swimming pool project. The locals worked tirelessly to fund the refurbishment of Lee Gardens Pool with their volunteers setting out to reopen the pool after it was shut down in 2013. The volunteers are an intergenerational group of people aged from under 7 years to over 75 years who now work together to maintain the outdoor pool. Originally the pool was built with money from their hard working miners back in 1957.
After discussions with the team at Lee Gardens Pool we set out to offer a natural looking product which would resemble the sand of the beach around the sea. Since re-opening this pool has been a great success after their first summer of business.
