COMPLETE OVERSIGHT

Throughout Every Phase

Distinct from many in our sector, we manage every phase of a project internally, avoiding the need for outsourcing or subcontracting. Every installation we perform and piece of safety surfacing we lay is executed by our own team of dedicated specialists. This approach eliminates the extra costs associated with subcontracting, allowing us to maintain strict quality control throughout every step of the project.

Adventure Playgrounds Wales places the utmost importance on meeting our customers’ requirements, ensuring their needs are not just met but surpassed. Whether it’s top-tier playground equipment, safety surfacing, concrete leisure products, or golf course upgrades, our skilled and professional team is committed to providing supreme service. In doing so, we forge enduring connections and offer comprehensive project support.

OUTSTANDING REPUTATION

Within Our Field

Our wet pour, bonded rubber mulch, and synthetic turf are highly regarded in our field. We’re among the select few to hold a TigerMulch license – the top-rated system in bonded rubber mulch recognised across the industry.

Adventure Playgrounds Wales is a proud member of the Association of Play Industries (API). This prestigious association not only acknowledges our dedication to improving outdoor play areas but also underscores our commitment to fostering safe and creative play settings.

Being part of the API allows Adventure Playgrounds Wales to tap into an extensive network of industry experts, fostering opportunities to collaborate, exchange insights, and drive the ongoing enhancement of playground safety and design standards. Our affiliation with the API reinforces our status as a frontrunner in supplying superior play equipment and highlights our influential role in advancing play environment innovations, ensuring children throughout the UK have access to enjoyable and secure outdoor play options.

Our team is fully CSCS certified and DBS vetted, with Constructionline Gold and CHAS accreditations, and membership in ROSPA. Our supervisors are required to hold either SMSTS or SSSTS certifications.

We’re happy to provide copies of these certifications prior to starting any project.

How we do it

Our standards

Each of our playground safety surfaces is constructed and set up following the applicable European Standards – EN1176 & EN1177 for surfacing, which align with national standards.

Our playground equipment undergoes testing according to the pertinent TUV Standard. Rest assured, every item is crafted to enable children to enhance their physical abilities and character, all while reducing the risk of injury.

The environment

Adventure Playgrounds Wales is committed to working in a sustainable manner and reducing the environmental impact of its operations.

The major component of our safety surfacing is shredded lorry tyre rubber. By recycling and reusing scrap tyres we are creatively using material which would otherwise go to landfill. This also minimises the consumption of precious natural resources.

Material quantities are calculated and measured carefully on each project, using only sufficient materials for each wet pour. Any surplus product is returned to the depot for reuse.

Each day around 100,000 worn tyres are removed from cars, vans and lorries, totalling 46 million used tyres each year (Source: WRAP).

Health & safety

Safety is the premier priority for Adventure Playgrounds Wales. We will not compromise on the health and safety of the public and our valued employees.

We fully comply with all our responsibilities under relevant legislation and the Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations. Our health and safety systems and standards have been assessed and approved by the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS), trusted by public and private organisations throughout the UK.

SO WHAT DOES THAT MEAN IN PRACTICE?

Every site is unique. Before the start of each project we prepare a health and safety plan to identify and manage notable risks, for example site accessibility and its boundaries, vehicle turning, the presence of both overhead or underground services, material delivery and storage space. We also prepare a method statement setting out how each project will be constructed.

All our employees are provided with the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and regular training to ensure that all material and machinery can be operated safely. Site inductions and refresher training is mandatory to all employees.

We employ an external health and safety adviser to direct and audit our health and safety systems, to ensure that the correct procedures are always being followed.

For additional reassurance, all our staff have been vetted with an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
